About Us

Xtreme Reptiles is a privately owned business run by Wayne and Leanne Webb based on the Gold Coast, Queensland Australia.

Here at Xtreme Reptiles we maintain a small and private captive breeding program mostly consisting of pythons and smaller type lizards that are located and native to Australia only. We also keep venomous snakes, but these mostly consist of the smaller and more manageable species such as the Death Adder and Red Belly Black snakes. In the next few years, Xtreme Reptiles will be producing high quality, captive bred blood-lines that will consist of specially designed morphs and colour variations never seen before in Australia.

About Me

I am a hobbyist keeper/breeder located on the northside of Brisbane. I acquired my first snake, a Childrens python, in early 2007 and since then my collection has expanded to include several species and take up more space than ever thought it would!

Breeding snakes is an exciting and rewarding experience, and ensuring that hatchlings are well established and ready for their new homes prior to sale is an extremely important goal for me to achieve. All animals are sold with a full feeding and shedding history and I am more than happy to help out afterwards with any advice I can offer.

About Us

I am a licensed reptile breeder and keeper, located in Central Queensland. I have been in the hobby since early 2007, not a great amount of time – but I have gained a great deal of knowledge within these few years! I take great pride in my collection, and firmly believe in quality over quantity. All of my animals are pure, many are locale specific and will be staying that way.

My main focus is on pythons, particularly my Proserpine Coastal Carpets. I am honored to have gained some new additions from Mr. Joel Faustino himself, a pair of stunning Reduce Pattern Proserpine’s, that I hope to do great things with. I believe animals like these are the way of the future, stunning, healthy, neurological free animals! I also keep a small variety of geckos, you can see the other species I breed in the list to the left.

I am always happy to lend advice to new keepers, and like to give continued support over the years to those who purchase hatchlings from me. More importantly, I am always open to receiving advice aswell, as there are always things to learn!

It is a fact that the next few years holds exciting times for Teliqua Scincoides morphs in herpetoculture. In fact in my opinion even more so than the Morelia Complex with the availability of the Hyper-melanistic & Albinism gene made available to us by Snake Ranch, a line-bred hypo-melanistic gene which in some cases borders on leucistic which has now been made available to us by the Coward family from the NT, there is also a genuine Leucism project which is close to fruition being worked on by a friend of mine Roger Kramer & not to mention a line bred Bumblebee & recessive Axanthic program being worked on by Gary Fitzgerald.

Over the last few seasons I have honed my Blue Tongue breeding techniques on locale specific animals using an outdoor system which has yielded nearly 100% success with all breeding age animals & has culminated in success during last season of the notoriously tricky to breed Albino x Albino & also some very interesting heterozygous animals which should come in fruition in 2012…… I have also in recent years been relentlessy collecting as many of the available Blue Tongue morphs as I can in order to form a viable breeding colony of each, this is a time consuming, expensive & at times thankless task especially as groups of un-sexed animals need to be purchased & can lead to excessive numbers of one gender as many of you Bluey enthusiasts can testify !!! In addition in the case of Albinos a somewhat reduced vigour can render a few years work wasted come the breeding season by lack of willingness to mate. That said having achieved this for my targeted animals I am ready to move Blue Tongue morphology to the exciting next level.

Top left & right albinoxalbino & outdoor breeding enclosure. Bottom left & right gravid albino & Kimberley blueys | Photography by Joe Ball.

The 2011 breeding season should finally see the result of the Hyper Melanistic x Albino Blue Tongue with the resultant double heterozygous animals causing much debate amongst Bluey lovers as to what they will look like let alone what the double Homozygous animal’s appearance will be…… There may be a keeper out there that has already done this cross but results have yet to be shared. Fingers crossed either I or Roger Kramer should achieve this over the coming season as proven animals of both genes will be used by both of us in our separate Scincoides programs & I will definitely look to share any successes with the wider audience.

Of course the Hyper melanistic x Albinism cross is not the only exciting possibility out there with the afore mentioned Hypo Northern animals, Leucistic & Axanthic & Bumble-bee projects etc the potential for stunning animals are endless !!! All that is required now is a bit of patience & a modicum of luck for all of the hope-full Bluey breeders out there & this note will appear to have been written in the Blue Tongue Morphology stone age !!!

Thanks,

Joe (Bluey Joe)

We are a husband and wife team that have been keeping and breeding reptiles since early 2006.
Since this time we have gained a keen interest in the Hobby and are ever growing our breeding
collection and knowledge.
Prior to to becoming interested in reptiles we had approx 15 years experience breeding parrots ( native and exotic )
A few breeding projects that we are concentrating on in the near future, are carpet python morphs, blackheaded
python morphs and geckos.

About Me

I have been interested in reptiles for as long as I can remember and have kept a variety of skinks, gecko’s and dragons since I was 8 years old. I have always been interested in snakes, however, pythons were scarce in Country NSW where I grew up so I tended to catch venomous snakes. Moving to the Central Coast of NSW in my early 20′s changed that. Having these opportunities over the past 2 decades has allowed me to keep and breed most Australian reptiles, with a bias towards pythons in last 10 years. Over the past 8 years or so i have been concentrating on breeding different types of Antaresia pythons, not just looking at localities but more at specific traits. Colours, patterns, lines ,speckles ect. Line breeding for specific traits is new in Australia, besides using the albino gene which tends to be a predictable trait.

About Us

Through more than a decade of selective breeding, we have produced several lines of highly recognisable and distinctive lines of Black-headed Pythons. These include the following – “Hypo” Black-headed Python with a distinct lack of black pigmentation, resulting in a red and cream banded pattern. We refer to these animals as “High Red” Black-headed python. “High Yellow” Black-headed Python with an obvious yellow colouration to the base pattern, with black cross bands. “Gold” Black-headed Python, a lack of melanin trait that replaces the black pigment of the head and neck. “Lined” Black-headed Python, with a distinctive “train track” dorsal pattern. “Calico” Black-headed Python, which are proving to be some of the most spectacular specimens in our collection. We also have several other projects underway, involving both Black-headed Pythons and other native python species. Keep an eye on our website for updates.
